Instead it's boring as hell with lame jokes all round, crappy acting, crappy script and dialogue, and horrible CGI (in this day and age and for that budget? blurry cgi background (especially the swinging bridge scene. The apes stolen from planet of the apes, neither scary or intense at all.
What happened to films? Check out the first Jumanji from 1995, that was cool, creepy and well acted.
Hilarious jungle action? Watch Ace Ventura - When Nature Calls. that's laugh out loud humor and fun for the whole movie. Disappointed by Jack Black as I really like his humor usually, the rest are funny as a road accident anyway. Devito was quite fun as himself at the beginning.
I would say avoid at all costs.

I watched the movie and it was Japanese but omg I loved it

I'm getting tired of these fantasy ridden movies that mirror a lot of ambiguity yet always talk about the same things. This is not of the same ilk as a Miyazaki film. It's not even a proper Japanese movie. It's an American movie, it's a Discworld movie, a Neil Gaiman fantasy novelization. It's a hippie movie disguised as a Ghibli picture. The major gripe I have about the whole affair is the way the story is derailed by the caprices of the magic which comes to mess up the kernel of heartfelt purity that had set off the movie.
The birth of Kaguya is the best example of a supernatural act. It's familiar and unquestionable. Unlike later occurrences, you never doubt it's a dream sequence or a metaphor. The concept of miracle births have been drilled into us so soundly that we accept the childhood and disillusionment of Kaguya. What happens after the princes have failed in their quests is nothing but the admission (insert gratuitous box office joke) of the filmmakers that they have run out of imagination. This movie didn't make the splash it was no doubt vying to get and the anonymity that beckons will be very much deserved.

Princess Kaguya is truly the most underappreciated Ghibli movie EVER. I saw the soundtrack performed like this, I would be beside myself sobbing. Masterpiece is an understatement. Hisaishi is incapable of composing anything forgettable or mediocre. This is the kind of music that shines a light on every inch of your soul.

Black christmas carol of the bells. Black christmas day. Black christmas tree. A complete insult to Horror movies and Fans. Film story line is a joke what did i watch for 90 minutes was a total waste of time and energy.
Please never see this film. Black christmas 2019. The movie is overall a typical slasher, it has a simple premise and a deeper meaning, albeit a meaning forced down your throat. Note that the movie is tailored to a teenage female audience, hence the heavy theme of girl power and bringing attention to the terrors of rape, the underlying theme provides more horror than the actual movie.
Most of these reviews are just men complaining about it, when the men are not the target audience. The characters are like able but sadly are hardly developed with the exception of Kris and Riley. The movie definitely could have done with a better pacing and bring more light to Jesse and Marty who were definitely strong actresses with not prominent enough of roles to real develop what are otherwise like able people. (Especially Marty who's actress, Lily Donoghue, has great charisma and charm that I hope to see later in her acting career.)
People constantly beg in the horror community for something classic and simple, which this movie delivers, but still have to find a way to complain.
Overall, Black Christmas is a great addition to the series of remakes but given its name, is burdened with living up to the previous films which were tailored to different audiences. The movie is a good slasher and despite its PG-13 rating is able to still provide a quality time.

Poly styrene r,i.p. I'm seeing this movie. Black christmas imdb. Black christmas 2006. Black christmas images. Black christmas showtimes. This would have been better served with an original title instead of having to live up to a classic. It would receive far less vitriol if it weren't associated with the original. Studios just can't let the siren song of tying things to previously successful properties just for name recognition go, and it does this film a disservice. The target audience for this film doesn't even know Black Christmas 1974 existed. The audience that does is not going to react well to this ones message as seen all over social media and these reviews.
The cutdown to PG13 is really felt while watching. The cuts are too abrupt during the kills and take you out of it. What would have been a pretty amusing retort in the climax was just left hanging as a "suck my (total silence. that was a dud. You couldn't have the actress come in and dub over the word *ss if the assumed cl*t was too much for PG13? I think they censored themselves too much fearing combined with the rape themes the MPAA would still give them an R?
Yes the message was heavy handed but it's the horror genre your allowed to be over the top.
Imogen was amazing as usual some of the other characters didn't really have time to develop. I appreciate a tight old school hour and a half but this needed some room to breathe and perhaps everything wouldn't have felt so crammed down your throat. If these girls were shown living their lives a bit and not constantly talking about men and the evils they have wrought. It would humanize a bit and make the medicine go down smoother perhaps?
Overall I look forward to the unrated version and maybe an extended cut.

Hinako, understandably takes it pretty bad, but to her surprise, whenever she starts singing their favorite song, Minato's spirit appears in the closest body of water - be it a stream, the ocean, or a bottle of mineral water.
The whole story is really about Hinako, Minato's friends and family, and how they slowly but finally learn to "let go.
Of course, it's magical-realism, so in the end we get to witness some crazy action as well, where we surf down a skyscraper with our protagonists.
Unfortunately, this is not the most original story, the characters are a little two dimensional, and the filmmaking could've been a little braver.
It's fine though, the film looks really nice, colorful with constantly glowing orange hues and cool blues. The action looks fantastic as well and the environments feel very "lived in" and detailed. Seeing it on a big screen really adds to the experience.
It is also paced well, has some pretty funny moments, as well as a couple of quite moving ones.
Recommended if you manage to catch it screening somewhere, but not an essential viewing.

So many years(23years) it is mentioned as the best restaurant in the city, and it was time for some changes. Finally it is renovated, new cozy interior reflecting nowadays. The chef is also new but the food is still super tasty. Seafood always fresh, oysters are served from aquarium they live. I loved tuna tartar, Argentinian shrimps with fennel rémoulade was amazing and for the main I had lamb ribs and it was the way I love - tender and juicy.
